Doula Services

Pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum are times of complexity, contradictions, and multiplicity—many things can be true at once. You may feel immense joy and massive overwhelm all at the same time. You may feel at times like you were made for this, and then the next moment, feel like you have no idea what you are doing. I am here to help you hold and face that complexity and to work through it with confidence, love, and acceptance.

As your doula, I will provide emotional, physical, informational, and nutritional support as you process, prepare, and navigate this time. I support YOU in YOUR vision of birth and postpartum.

“What if we looked at the old ways with creative eyes to see what wisdom they could give us? ... Could we reclaim this sacred time of recovery and bonding after birth, borrowing from the heritages of our aunties, grandmothers, and mothers-in-law, whoever and wherever they may be? After all, we experience the first forty days only once with each child.”

— Heng Ou, in "The First Forty Days"

It matters how little ones enter into this world. I aim to help make that entrance as sacred, joyous, and supported as possible. My birth doula package includes:

  • 2 prenatal visits (up to 90 minutes)

  • Support via text & phone from day of hire until postpartum visit

  • Access to a range of birth and postpartum resources, including books, handouts, etc.

  • On-call doula services for birth from 37 weeks until 42 weeks

  • Weekly check-in walks beginning one month before due date

  • Continuous support for labor and birth

  • 2 postpartum visits at your home

Postpartum Doula Services

Postpartum is an unpredictable time, making it hard to know what type of support you may need. That’s okay. As your postpartum doula, I will find the gaps in support and help fill them. Some things I may help with include:

  • Processing birth/recording birth story

  • Infant feeding (chest feeding, bottle feeding, pumping)

  • Infant care and soothing

  • Staying nourished (cooking and grocery shopping)

  • Belly binding

  • Household organization/cleaning

  • Adjusting to new sleep norms/maximizing rest

  • Adjusting to new roles in family

  • Sibling care

  • Emotional support

  • Physical recovery support

  • Connecting with further resources and supports

Client Testimonial

“Eva supported our family from the early pregnancy stages through birth and beyond, and I can’t say enough good things about our experience with her. In the prenatal visits, she was the perfect balance of practical and emotional help: providing new information and resources where needed, but also warmth and compassion when that was what we needed most. When it came to labor and delivery, her steady encouragement and calm, constant support gave me strength and made it possible for me to achieve the birth I wanted; she also supported my partner and his role in the birth. As we have moved into the postpartum period, I am continually impressed by Eva’s care and attention: she nurtures me so that I can recover and nurture my little one. And of course, she is wonderful with our baby!

Wherever you are in your birth journey, I wholeheartedly recommend Eva as a doula. Her support made a vast and positive difference in the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience for our whole family.”

Paying this rate allows for a contribution to support my time working with folks with less access to wealth.
